Estelle Higgins

My research focuses on brain-immune interactions, in relation to stress and emotion. I am interested in the mechanisms linking neural/biological dynamics of chronic inflammation, chronic versus acute stress, and emotional ill-being. I hope to leverage this mechanistic understanding to inform and enhance interventions, such as mindfulness, that can target both emotion and immune dysregulation.
