Laura Jett

 I am interested in studying the impact of childhood adversity on social-emotional development; specifically, how different experiences and contexts influence how children learn about, understand, and interpret their own and other’s emotions. Ultimately, I aim to address questions such as: how can we better characterize childhood adversity and the social, emotional, and cognitive mechanisms that lead to negative developmental outcomes? How may we leverage this knowledge to inform policy and social-emotional learning interventions to improve children’s wellbeing?
